Job Descriptions

We are happy to work with students looking for internships, and any of our positions can be tailored into an internship.

Experience is helpful for all positions and required for some. For example, we prefer our marina crew to have experience in outboard motor maintenance. Of course, our cooks should have chef or culinary experience. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and lawn care is helpful in maintenance. Most important is your desire to learn and your ability to catch on quickly. The average age of a Redfish employee is 21, so maturity is assumed.

Qualifications

  • Must be U.S. Citizen with a social security card, or have a work permit.
  • Must be 17 years or older. For wait staff, store clerk, or bartender, must be 19 years or older.
  • Must be responsible, honest, positive, and love the outdoors.
  • Appearance must be neat and clean. No visible facial hooks, rings, or barbs allowed. Appropriate earring and necklace jewelry acceptable for women.
  • Every employee must arrive on the day scheduled and remain on the job for the period of time designated on his or her Season Work Agreement.
  • Must abide by the Drug-free Workplace Policy. Redfish promotes a drug-free work environment and reserves the right to conduct drug testing.

Wages & Bonuses

Starting wages depend on position and experience.

Contract completion bonuses are awarded to employees who complete their season work agreements. Incentive bonuses may also be awarded in addition to contract completion bonuses. Incentive bonuses depend on company profitability and overall employee performance and attitude, both on and off the job.

Shifts

Every employee must be willing to work a six-day workweek in daytime, evening, or split shifts. Actual hours will fluctuate with business and will vary from 30 to 52 hours per week, depending on position and time of season.

Although a primary responsibility is agreed upon, every employee must be willing to accept changes in job assignments and work where needed.
